The websites are housed by a third-party service provider on a server in Canada. The Regional Executive Director of Education’s Office is responsible for the maintenance of the websites.
Privacy
The SRCE is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to the websites. When you visit the regional and school websites, you do so anonymously. Personal information such as your name, phone number or e-mail address, is only obtained where it is voluntarily submitted by the user via e-mail or an online form, as applicable, and as required by law.
Any personal information you do provide is managed according to the Nova Scotia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPOP) Act. At the point of collection, you will be told the purpose for collecting the information, how it will be used and who will have access to it, and who to contact should you have any questions about these practices.
Personal information that is voluntarily submitted through e-mail will be collected, if you choose to provide it, to respond to your inquiries, comments or requests; allow you to subscribe to information online; and to contact you as needed. The content of e-mails will be shared with appropriate departments in an effort to provide you with a thorough response and will only be shared with a third party in accordance with FOIPOP legislation or as required by law.
Personal information shall be protected to the extent reasonably possible by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
The SRCE will not use, disclose or retain personal information for purposes other than those for which it is collected, except with an individual’s consent or as required by law.
The SRCE shall maintain the personal information collected via the websites in the most complete, accurate and up-to-date manner possible, given the nature of the information and the purpose for which it was collected.
