News Release: SRCE Appoints Erin MacEachen as Director of Finance

Port Hawkesbury, NS: — The Strait Regional Centre for Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Erin MacEachen, CPA, CA, as its new Director of Finance, effective Monday, July 14, 2025. In this role, Erin will oversee the Centre’s financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficiency.
Bringing over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, Erin has held key roles including Staff Accountant, Manager and Senior Accountant in a public accounting practice. She currently serves as Director of Finance/Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for a municipal unit in Nova Scotia.
A distinguished professional, Erin holds a Chartered Accountant Designation from the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting Major) from St. Francis Xavier University. Her expertise in financial management, combined with her leadership skills, will be instrumental in supporting the Centre’s mission.
In accepting this position, Erin expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, stating "I am excited to join the Strait Regional Centre for Education and contribute to its ongoing success. I look forward to working with dedicated staff and partners to ensure strong financial stewardship and support student achievement and well-being."
In announcing the appointment, Paul Landry, Regional Executive Director of Education, said "Erin’s extensive experience, strong leadership, and financial expertise will be invaluable assets to our region. As we continue to work collaboratively with staff and partners, her insight will support students, families, and the efficient operations of our schools, ensuring the necessary programs and supports are in place to foster student achievement and success."
