Congratulations to Students and Award Recipients of the Strait Regional Science Fair 2025

Congratulations to all students and award recipients who took part in the 2025 Strait Regional Science Fair held on April 9, 2025, at the Nova Scotia Community College, Strait Area Campus.
The Science Fair was held in a hybrid format with 39 students participating virtually and 110 students participating in-person, an impressive showcase and celebration of 112 science-based projects.

Special congratulations to the following grand prize award winners:
Grand Prize Best in Fair: Saanvi Vishwakarma, Grade 8; St. Andrew Junior School; Project – Assessing the Ecological Implications and Antibacterial Efficacy of Garlic Compared to Lysol Disinfectant
Grand Prize 2nd Overall: Yashita Ghore, Grade 10; Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional High School; Project – BioKidney: A Step Towards Lab-Grown Organs
Grand Prize 3rd Overall: Elise Munro, Grade 11; Dalbrae Academy; Project – Keeping it Cool: Preventing the Deterioration and Improving the Performance of Solar Panels in Hot Conditions
The three grand prize winners will attend the Canada Wide Science Fair scheduled for May 31 to June 7, 2025, in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
